The Lasso is the only student run publication and media source. In print since 1914, we are the oldest student run publication in Texas as well as the oldest endeavor on campus. The Lasso is a weekly student publication of Texas Woman’s University, written and produced by students. With every weekly publication, The Lasso is filled with important and relevant news, entertainment, and commentary. The popularity of our publication has skyrocketed in the last few years and has become an institution within Pioneer culture. Our publication reaches audiences in Denton, Dallas, and Houston all at the same time. With a diverse university demographic and population, our publication also reaches a broad region and publics throughout Texas. We print 2,500 issues of The Lasso a week, reaching students in both print and online.The presentation of news and editorials and the personal opinions expressed in our media source are those of The Lasso staff and writers and do not necessarily reflect the views of the faculty, staff, students, administration, or the Regents of Texas Woman’s University.
